Avvir Appoints New Leadership with Sharon Weldon and Karin Berzins

Avvir, part of Hexagon, has appointed Sharon Weldon, formerly Head of Growth, to the role of President of the company. Joining her in leadership is Karin Berzins, formerly Head of Operations, who will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer. This news comes following the decision of Raffi Holzer, Avvir’s founder and CEO, to step down from his role to pursue new projects.

“I want to thank my colleagues, employees, investors, customers, and partners who have supported me throughout this journey,” said Holzer. “Your belief in our vision, hard work, and commitment has been instrumental in our success. I am grateful for the trust and support you have given me, and I will cherish the relationships I have built along the way.”

Holzer founded Avvir in 2017 with the goal of building transparency and efficiency into the construction process by leveraging cutting edge virtual modeling technology. Since its conception, the company has raised over $12M and worked across various high profile construction projects. Most recently, Holzer led the company through a successful acquisition by Hexagon, a global leader in digital reality solutions combining sensor, software and autonomous technologies. Being part of Hexagon will propel the company into the future with added resources and industry access.

"I’m honored to lead the Avvir team and carry on the vision that Raffi created,” said Weldon. “Avvir has a talented team of construction professionals and best in class software that uniquely positions us to capitalize on the technology revolution changing the construction environment. I look forward to expanding Avvir’s platform across complex construction projects worldwide."

Weldon has been a part of the Avvir team since 2021 and has worked closely with Holzer along the way developing the company into what it is today. Berzins has been a part of the Avvir team since 2018 and has been a pivotal figure in the growth of the company. The Avvir team is excited for its new leadership team and the energy and new focus they will bring.

“I am honored and grateful to be a part of such an innovative company which has a passion for elevating the customer and employee experience,” said Berzins. “I am excited to lead our efforts in my new role building upon the success that Avvir has achieved to date. I look forward to expanding and scaling our capabilities to drive future growth while ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers.”

Customers and partners can expect no changes to their current service and agreements through this seamless transition. The Avvir team thanks Holzer for all that he’s done over the years and looks forward to seeing what innovation he will bring to the industry in the future. We wish him the best in all his endeavors.

Please join us as we extend a warm welcome to Sharon and Karin who will lead the company to new heights.
